Mr. DeKoven is a graduate of Stanford University and received his J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law. Providing pro bono counsel for the US State Department and the American Law Institute, he wrote a state law governing leases of personal property that became part of the Uniform Commercial Code. Prior to joining the London firm ¾ South Square, Mr. DeKoven was chief executive officer of ChattelPaper, Inc., and a senior partner at Shearman & Sterling in New York, where he specialized in leasing and bankruptcy law. He is also a member of the Oxford University Law Foundation's Development Council.
