Mary Lisabeth Rich


Mary Lisabeth Rich is the vice president of development for the American Cancer Society Foundation. She manages a nationwide team of experts who provide fundraising counsel to the Society's Divisions, helping them to cultivate and close major gifts in support of approved nationwide initiatives. Her team is tasked with communicating, collaborating, and coordinating with Division management and fundraising staff, guiding them through cultivating and securing gift commitments of $1,000,000 or more from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Before joining the Foundation Mary Lisabeth served as chief operating officer and region vice president of the Planned Giving Business Unit for the American Cancer Society. She has been involved with nonprofit major and planned gift fundraising since 1990. Prior to joining the American Cancer Society in 1998, she spent nine years in higher education philanthropy, playing an integral part in three capital campaigns totaling $600 million.
