Irwin Belk

An American Cancer Society volunteer for more than three decades, Irwin Belk is president of The Belk Group, Inc., and a retired officer and director of The Belk Group of Stores, which operates department stores throughout the southeastern United States. A former member of the North Carolina House of Representatives and state senator, Mr. Belk was appointed by former President Clinton to serve as the US Public Delegate to the 54th United Nations General Assembly. Through the Foundation, he established the Carol Grotnes Belk Endowment for Cancer Control in the Carolinas.
